About the event
This year’s edition will highlight how VET systems can become more open, collaborative, and inclusive, by breaking down the walls between schools and society, and ensuring that every learner has access to meaningful, connected, and future-ready vocational education.
What is Open Schooling in VET?
Open Schooling transforms VET institutions into community hubs. It encourages schools to co-create learning with families, companies, municipalities, researchers, and civil society, making learning more engaging, relevant, and inclusive. It helps learners gain real-world skills, solve social and environmental challenges, and strengthen their civic identity.
Why Inclusion?
Open Schooling is a powerful vehicle for inclusive education. It ensures that VET systems reach learners at risk of exclusion, youth with fewer opportunities, migrants, people with disabilities, or those in rural or disadvantaged regions, while meeting the priorities of the European Skills Agenda, the European Pillar of Social Rights, and the European Education Area.
