About the event
The value of Vocational Education and Training (VET) relies on its capacity to provide learners with essential skills that support their personal development and enhance their employability opportunities, under inclusive lifelong learning and learner-centred approaches. Moreover, VET has strong connections with a labour market that is concerned with how formal qualifications can cope with constant emerging skills needs and adapt training accordingly.
One of the solutions to these challenges is the implementation of micro-credentials by VET systems, not in replacement of formal qualifications but as a complement that provides individuals the opportunity to develop the necessary skills through short, tailored training modules.
However, the added value of micro-credentials in the educational landscape is still being addressed in some Member States, even though in some EU countries there is already a drafted regulation/legislation for the recognition and certification of micro-credentials (as in the case of Czechia, Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Spain and…
