Time & Location

About the event
A quality framework for citizenship education should recognise learning across formal, non-formal, and informal settings, while making teachers' extra efforts visible and valued. A local learning community may be the best way to organise citizenship learning and to recognise its learning outcomes. Recognition should include civic engagement, community partnerships, and self-initiated learning, using dialogic, multi-actor assessment involving peers, learners, parents, and communities. Kicking off with a roundtable discussion, the event will explore how recognition and validation can take multiple forms, recognising not only the competences acquired by learners but also the knowledge, skills and experiences gained by those who support their learning, including educators, parents and civil society actors.
