About the event

“Making safeguarding a core transferable competence for educators and youth workers.”


Behind this ambition lies a bigger question: How can we as organisations and educators ensure that the competences which make this possible travel across borders too?


Thousands of volunteers, educators and youth workers across Europe and beyond gain throughout their engagement competences to create safer and more inclusive learning environments. After all, there can be no genuinely inclusive learning environment without facilitators and educators who are properly trained. Yet how can we ensure that these competences are first recognised and second validated and transferable across organisations and borders?


Drawing on Scouting’s “Safe from Harm” approach as a practical example, we want to use this interactive policy workshop to explore how safeguarding competences can be recognised and valued beyond individual organisations and countries.
