The European Council for Steiner Waldorf Education (ECSWE) consists of 27 national Steiner Waldorf school associations, representing 75 Steiner Waldorf schools across 28 European countries. Its mission is to support genuine Steiner Waldorf education and promote freedom in education in Europe.”


This is done by strengthening and developing Steiner Waldorf education in the member countries of the network, by promoting mutual support among its members and by conducting advocacy in the public sphere for better quality in education, independence of curriculum and assessment and freedom of choice of schooling. It stands for an education including physical, mental and spiritual dimensions, for the protection and wellbeing of childhood, and aims at building up better educational practices for all children and young people.
